Digital Light Dimmer
Rotem's Light Dimmer (RLD) is digital light dimmer with two channels . This powerful dimmer can be controlled manually or via 0-10V analog output. In addition, when employing a Platinum controller, the RLD can be controlled by connecting it to the communication card in the controller.
The RLD is noted for its safety and simplicity of use, installation and service.
The RLD includes unique features such as the “bright” button, which enables the grower to increase the light to a preset intensity for a preset time length. The user can enter the house push the button and leave from another door knowing the light will automatic go back to the requested low intensity.
RLD Features
- Two independent channels
- Manual brightness control
- Programmable brightness control by analog signal 0-10 VDC or by communication line in case of Platinum controller
- Automatic settings recovery after power failure
- Automatic settings save for each mode
- Minimum and maximum light intensity settings
- Automatic shut down timer
- Slave device option
The RLD can control the following lamps:
- Incandescent lamps
- Cold cathode lamps
- CFL lamps
CFL Lamps
CFL lamp physical behavior differs from the incandescent lamps. Extensive research by Rotem’s R&D department revealed that:
- there is similarity in CFL lamps behavior.
- there is non linear behavior.
- there are some limitations on firing CFL lamp at lower range.
- the higher range of the lamp is not linear at all and big phase shifts should be applied in order to have a difference in light intensity.
In addressing these issues the RLD:
- Maps the whole period of half sine wave by the light intensity vs. Triac firing phase angle.
- Restricts the low band operation.
- Has built-in correction factors to overcome CFL lamp parameters deviations.
RLD Models
The RLD comes in two models:
RLD-14
- Input Voltage: Two phases, 230 VAC 50/60 Hz
- Output Maximal Load (Per Channel): 30 Amps
- Maximum Power (Per Channel): 230 VAC, 3600 VA
RLD-7.2
- Input Voltage: One/two phase, 115 VAC 50/60 Hz
- Output Maximal Load (Per Channel): 30 Amps
- Maximum Power (Per Channel): 115 VAC, 3600 VA
